Offset printing is a much more advanced technique than digital printing. The offset printing technique involves transferring ink from aluminum plates to the substrate using cylinders coated with rubber. The plates are created in a CTP (Computer-to-Plate) imaging device, separately for each color from the CMYK palette, as well as additionally for white and colors from the Pantone palette. Each of the cylinders is responsible for transferring image dots with a different color component. All colors combined together create the final image. Unlike digital printing, preparing the offset machine takes a lot of time and requires significant financial investment. For this reason, it is cost-effective for projects with high print runs, as the unit price decreases exponentially with an increase in volume.
Offset printing provides very high print quality and accurate color reproduction. Additionally, choosing this technique increases the number of available colors – we can achieve gold, silver, or other colors from the Pantone palette, which is very important for demanding graphic projects. The offset technique allows us to print on various materials, including rigid substrates with high grammage and in larger formats.
Offset printing is the ideal solution for high-volume orders, where each copy needs to be identical, especially when a larger format or non-standard substrate is desired, as well as for complex and demanding publications with a large number of applications or photos.
